Carolyn Harris

Carolyn Harris entered her heavenly home on Monday, March 24, 2025. Carolyn was born on January 27, 1939 to the late Curtis and Estelle Smith. Additionally she was preceded in death by brothers: Gene, L.C., Jack, Steve and Joe Smith; sisters: Martha Lovins, Sarah Haygood, and Barbara Smith; daughter, Debbie Harris; and grandson, Landon Pelfrey.

She is survived by a daughter Marsha Pelfrey and son in law Cal. She adored her grandchildren Emily Pelfrey and Blake Harris, along with great grandsons Dade Pelfrey and Cole McCallister.

She was a graduate of Winder Barrow High School, and went on to be a part of the teaching staff of Auburn Elementary School for 36 years. Teaching was a true gift of hers. She loved her students and they loved her. Carolyn was a beautiful, precious and selfless southern lady. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. Family was very important to her, which included her church family at Gratis Church but most of all, she loved her Lord and Savior.

The family would like to thank Pricilla and Kim at Family Hospice for their wonderful care during her last few weeks. They were definitely hand picked by God.

A Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, GA. Funeral Services will follow on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 11:00 am in Smith Memory Chapel. Interment will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
