Carolyn Crow Freeman, age 97 of Statham, went to be with the Lord Sunday February 26, 2017. Carolyn was born in Bogart and lived most of her life in Statham. She retired after working many years for Statham Garment. She faithfully cared for her daughter Bonnie from the time she became disabled in the late 50s until they both went in the nursing home in July 2016. She was a faithful member of The Winder Church of Christ. A high point in Carolyn’s life was when Johnny Carson flew her and Bonnie to Los Angeles for a guest appearance and interview on his June 16, 1989 show. They also got to meet Burt Reynolds back stage. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Banister Crow and Nancy Evieline Morgan Crow; her brother, James Banister Crow Jr; two sisters, Jennie Viola Crow and Eula Mae Crow Anthony; four half-brothers, Junia Edwin Crow, Henry Omer Crow, Gordon Banister Crow and Robert Jewel Crow and five half-sisters, Olivia Aretha Crow Kinney, Rose Belle Crow Autry, Zora Crow Nay, Esther Crow Hardigree and Parolee Crow Arnold. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Lee Freeman Queen and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, March 2, 2017 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA with Minister John R. Gross officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to service time. Interment will follow in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
