Carolyn Hatfield Appling

Carolyn Hatfield Appling, 80 of Winder, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023. She was a Christian and attended Bethlehem Church. Carolyn retired as an office manager for The Stewart Allen Agency. She enjoyed water aerobics at The Winder YMCA and loved being with her family especially watching her grandchildren play softball.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Lyle and Laura “Peggy” Dunbar Hatfield; a son, Jason Appling and a brother, David Hatfield. She is survived by a son, Vance Medlam (Kirsten) of Bethlehem; a brother, Howard Hatfield (Debbie) of Anthony, KS; three grandchildren, Hayden Medlam, Hannah Medlam and Kaitlyn Reavis and two great grandchildren, Clay and Camden Reavis.

A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held at 4PM Saturday, November 11, 2023 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 3PM until service hour.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Carolyn's name to The Barrow County Humane Society.
