Carl John Palmer Jr., age 65, of Winder, GA passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024. He was born in New Orleans, LA. Carl retired from the U.S. Navy after a 20 year career as a Personnelman. While in the U.S. Navy he earned two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, a Navy and Marine Corps Medal, and numerous other awards.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl John Palmer Sr. and Helen Palmer, and his brother, Lawrence Palmer. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Virginia Palmer; daughters: Sabrina (Patrick) McAuliff of Winder and Kristinia (Ronnie) Dupuy of Metairie, LA; sister-in-law, Delores Diagle of Diamond Head MS; and grandchildren: Madison McAuliff and Ethan McAuliff, who he adored.
The family has asked that donations, in memory of Carl, be made to the non-profit Veterans organization of your choice. A memorial service will be held at Garden of Memories in Metairie, LA at a later date.
