Bobby Joe Boswell, age 85 of Winder, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Bobby was an Army veteran and served his country during the Korean War. He retired from Coca-Cola working many years as a route salesman, truck driver and eventually as a driver’s instructor. An active member of his community Bobby was a member of various organizations including The Masonic Lodge, The 40 and 8rs post 217 and The Brookhaven American Legion Post 65. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Boswell and Estelle Deems Boswell Marks; his loving wife of 66 years, Nadine Cohran Boswell; a son Keith Boswell; two brothers, George and Dewey Boswell and sister, Janice Hulsey. Bobby is survived by a son, David Boswell of Winder; a daughter, Kim Knutson (Larry) of Suwanee; two grandchildren, Dana and Michael Knutson and a great-grandson, Brandon Arevalo. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM Sunday, June 4, 2017 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA with Rev’s Duke Forrester and Ed Hampton Officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The interment will be held at 4:30PM with military honors in North Atlanta Memorial Park, Doraville, GA, the body will lie in state in their chapel from 4 until 4:30PM.
