Willie Mae Ferrell December 2, 1924 – May 6, 2017 Willie Mae Ferrell, 92, of Wilson, passed away Saturday. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home. The Rev. Frank Gooch will officiate. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, 2704 Nash St. N, Wilson, NC. Willie Mae retired from Owens-Minor as a pharmaceutical sales representative after 25 years of service. She loved working in both her home and yard. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Surviving are her sister, Beatrice Turner; and a host of extended family and friends, including special caregivers, Dionne Williams, Frances Hyde, Charlotte Crocker, Sharon Jones and Susan Swain. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Phyllis Marcia Johnson; husband, Willie Alton Ferrell, Jr.; former husband, Sherwood Johnson; parents, Cephus and Mattie Scott Smith; and several sisters and brothers.
