Ruth Barnes, 91 of Wilson, passed away on July 19, 2021. She was born in Wilson County, NC to Willie and Annie Taylor on April 18, 1930.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, James Ray Barnes; her parents, Willie and Annie Taylor; a sister Lucille Davis; and a brother, Eugene Taylor.
She is survived by three nieces, Laurie Davis Rivera; Gina Pariso; and Pamela Spitzer.
Ruth was a long time member of Forest Hills Baptist Church in Wilson. Her church family was very special to her and she enjoyed the company of all the ladies that she attended Sunday School with each week for many years.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 11:00 at Evergreen Memorial Park. Family will receive friends before the service at 10:00 a.m. at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home.
