Elm City: Robert Lee “Bob” Cain, age 75, passed away Tuesday February 7, 2023 at his home with family by his side. He was a son of the late Alfred Woodrow Cain and Dymple Broome Cain and was also predeceased by his brothers, James “Jim” Cain and Billy Wayne Cain, his sister – in – law Becky Cain and his father-in-law Bryce Bottoms.
Bob was a member of the East Carolina Council of Boy Scouts for 37 years, he served as Camp Caretaker at Camp Charles in Bailey for 18 years, he received the Silver Beaver Award and the Vigil Honor Order of the Arrow. He retired from Nexans formerly Teledyne Thermatics after 43 years and was a United States Air Force Veteran.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 52 years Nell Bottoms Cain, his son Dr. Jason Cain, his daughter Jennifer Hennes and her husband David, his brother Ronnie Cain (Karla Cook), his sister Elaine Clark and her husband Zane, his grandchildren Wren Hennes and Charlotte Hennes, his mother – in – law Elizabeth Bottoms , his sister – in – law Martha Cain and his sister – in – law and brother -in- law Janet and Chris Johnson.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday March 18, 2023 from 1 to 3 PM at Elm City Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 206 W. Wilson St, Elm City.
