Mary Elizabeth Harris

Mary Elizabeth Harris, age 81, passed away March 1, 2025 at Wilson Medical Center. She was born December 22, 1943 in Wilson County to the late Emmett L Bass, Sr. and Virginia Davis Bass and was also preceded in death by her husband James Donald Harris, her son Christopher Todd Harris and her brother Emmett Bass, Jr.

Mary Elizabeth retired from Wilson Medical Center after 18 years of service. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and transported Veterans to V.A. Hospitals for appointments. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Steven Troy Harris of Lucama and Daniel Stuart Harris and his wife Sarah Pierson Harris of Cary, her brother Harold Bass of Lancaster, SC and her grandchildren; Dillon Harris, Caroline Harris, Victoria Harris, Wyatt Harris and Elyssa Harris.

A Celebration of her life will be held Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 2 PM in the chapel of Thomas – Yelverton Funeral Home with Bill Pierson officiating.
