Mrs. Maria Ann Prince

Maria Ann Prince, 86, of Wilson, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023. She was born December 15, 1936 in Vance County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late William M. and Mary Lee Boone. She was preceded in death by her husband Thonie Travis Prince and brothers Donald Boone and Freddie Boone.

She is survived by her two sons Donnie Prince (Kathy) and Randy Prince (Jennifer) of Wilson, NC; sister Joyce Brown of Smithfield, Virginia; four grandchildren Sarah Winbourne (Tyler), Mary Katherine Carmon (Phil), William Prince (Alyssa), and Heather Reneau (Brian); and three great-grandchildren Ben Winbourne, Jenny Winbourne and Ian Carmon.

She was a long-time member of Grace Baptist Church. She was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed attending her sons and grandchildren’s tennis matches, baseball games, football games, swim meets, dance recitals, and cheerleading events.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 11 AM at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 2800 Nash St N., Wilson,NC with the Reverend Steve Strickland officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 5 to 7 PM at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, 2704 Nash St. N. Wilson, NC.
