He was a farmer and also retired from Export Leaf and Tobacco Company. He enjoyed golfing, softball, eating sweets and traveling with family and friends. For many years Kenneth served as a deacon at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. But most importantly he was a devoted Christian. He loved the Lord and enjoyed attending church. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 62 years Ruby Lee Vick, his daughters, Angie Nisinger of High Point, Kendra Pokas of Virginia Beach, Tatum Schans (Rick) of Elm City, his son Ken Vick of the home, grandchildren, Nick Schans (Hannah) of Nashville, Tyler Schans (Allison) of Elm City, Victoria Sliney (Brian) of Cleveland, NC, Kendall Rountree (Chad) of Nashville, Clay Vick (Ashleigh) of Sims, Kenny Vick of Wilson, great grandchildren Cali, Caylee, Kensie, Oakleigh and Gatlin, sisters, Cynthia Keen of Wilson, Deborah Melancon (Mike) and brothers Dennis Vick (Sharon) of Fremont and Horace Vick (Katrina of La Grange.
Kenneth was reunited in Heaven with his parents, sister Sylvia, son in laws Chris and Brian and brother in law Butch.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 11 AM in the chapel of Thomas – Yelverton Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Roman officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.
