He was born on December 9, 1935 in Millville, New Jersey to the late Joel Fallows and Bertha Brown Fallows.
Joe graduated from Ocean City High School in 1953. He served in the United States Navy from 1954-1956 before being honorably discharged. He retired from Ball-Foster after 40 years of service as a Production Specialist. Joe enjoyed creating stained-glass panels and artwork, golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family.
His wife Marie Burch Fallows preceded him in death on January 3, 1998. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Richard Fallows and sister Julia Ann Balkus.
Joe is survived by his four children, Joseph Fallows, Jr. and wife Gail of Wilson, NC; Elizabeth McGahhey and husband Brian of Millville, NJ; Thomas Fallows of Fremont, NC; and Kathie Bokhoven and husband Scott of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by his sister Jane Kestler and husband Hans of Florida. He has nine grandchildren Michele Colon (Greg), Trisha McGahhey, Katie Fallows Meacham (Jonathan), Matthew Fallows, Jonathan Fallows, Ryan Fallows, Megan Fallows, Colin Bokhoven, and Carly Espitia Morales (Sebastian) and two great-grandchildren Evan Colon and Calia Espitia Morales.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 12:30 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home in Wilson, North Carolina. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M., in the Chapel of Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home in Wilson, North Carolina with Rev. Randy Elkins, officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, in Wilson, North Carolina.
The service will conclude the rendering of military honors by the United States Navy.
