Mr. James Woodard Farmer

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lloyd Farmer and Edith Early Farmer; his brothers, Joseph Lloyd Farmer, Douglas Andrew “Andy” Farmer; his sister, Eleanor Joyce Farmer; and his granddaughter, Shannon Deanna Farmer.

James is survived by his wife Patricia “Pat” Ellis Farmer of the home, two sons James Bradley “Brad” Farmer, of Stantonsburg, NC and John Ross Farmer, of Hertford NC; three daughters, Sheila Patrice Skinner, of Wilson, NC, Danielle Hope Farmer Hinson, of Newport, NC, and Brittany Nichole “Nikki” Skinner of Gainesville, Florida; and four grandchildren, Nickolas Robert Hinson, Cassidi Danielle Hinson, Clayton Cole Hinson, and Kaydance Lynn Schuler.

James will always be remembered as a loving husband and father, who loved the Lord and had a kind heart. He was a hardworking, family-oriented man and his family was his life. James was a trucker his entire career. He loved the open highway, traveling many places for work, meeting many people.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 26, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Allen and Rev. Johnny Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
