James A. Boswell, Sr., 84, of Middlesex died Friday. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Bethany Missionary Baptist Church, 8980 Old Beulah Rd., Kenly, NC, with Rev. Daniel Arant officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson, NC.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, one hour prior to the service, at the church.
James was retired from the United States Army with more than 20 years of service and was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Rochelle O’Neal Boswell; one son, James A. Boswell, Jr. (Janie) of Stantonsburg; one daughter, Diane Hardy (Wayne) of Nashville; three step-children, Les Parrish (Tiffany), Lisa McAllister (Scott) and Brent Parrish; five grandchildren, Melissa Cooper, Tracy Sledge, Allen Boswell, Timothy Boswell and Jamie Price; eight step-grandchildren, Samantha Adams, Billy Stevens, Dawn Hardy, Katherine Mitchell, John Ross Parrish, Austin McAllister, Will Parrish and Ava McAllister; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one brother, Keith Reddick of Rock Ridge; and two sisters, Barbara Edwards of Wilson and Pat Wall of Charlotte.
He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Allen “Ricky” Boswell; parents, Floyd and Daisy Owens Boswell; two brothers; and two sisters.
