Gerald Douglas Skinner Gerald Douglas Skinner, 80, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Julia Belle Grimsley Skinner; sisters, Julia Pridgen and Sylvia Pittman; and brothers, William Skinner and Russell “Bud” Skinner. Gerald leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 53 years, Lois Winstead Skinner of the home; brother, Thomas E. Skinner and wife Ann) of Wilson; sister, Ruth M. Breedlove of Wilson; and several nieces and nephews. Gerald was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He retired from the Wilson County Schools as an Electronic Technician after 20 years. He was a jack-of-all trades, he loved people and was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be 10:00 ~ 11:00 AM Monday, October 10, 2016 at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, with funeral service to follow in the Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Steve Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow the service in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson, NC.
