Dorothy Coggins Bass, age 93, passed away September 15, 2024 at Rocky Mount Rehab Center. She was born November 8, 1931 in Wilson County to the late Luther Coggins and Elsie Haynes Coggins and was also predeceased by a sister Mary Elizabeth Jones.
Dorothy was employed with BB&T for 42 years and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She loved traveling and especially loved her family.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Gail Moore and husband Bill of Wilson, her grandchildren, Chris Fulghum, Andrew Moore (Jessica) , Matthew Moore (Theresa) and Will Moore (Shawn), her great grandchildren, Kayla Fulghum, Summer Fulghum and Sadie Moore, her great-great grandchild Ty Ward and a special friend Bob Perkins.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, September 20, 2024 at 2 PM in the chapel of Thomas – Yelverton Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Renfrow and Pastor Scott Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM at Thomas- Yelverton Funeral Home.
