Charlie David Lucas, age 87, passed away peacefully on Friday January 31, 2025. He was born in Wilson County to the late David Lee Lucas and Addie Jones Lucas on January 4, 1938. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Elsie Lucas Barnes and Lissie Lucas and his brother Donnie Lucas.
Charlie was a dedicated and hardworking father, grandfather, and brother. He worked for Watson Electrical many years as an electrician. He joined his son Roger, in establishing the start-up of Lucas Heating Air & Electrical Inc. before his retirement.
Charlie took pride in being an integral part in the construction of his Church, Grace Community Church in Black Creek and enjoyed being a devoted member for many years.
Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Roger Lucas and his wife Diane of Wilson and Jeffrey Lucas and his wife Gloria of Wilson, grandchildren Roxanne Lucas and boyfriend Chris Macik, Travis Lucas and Andrew Lucas, his sisters, Teresa Lucas, and Alice Jenkins, and long-time girlfriend, Barbara Wells.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM at Thomas - Yelverton Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Charlie’s life will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 11 AM at Grace Community Church, 5547 Woodbridge Rd.in Black Creek officiated by Rev. Randy Jenkins. Burial will follow in Black Creek Cemetery.
