Virginia Raye Faircloth, 71, went to sleep at home and awoke in the arms of her Savior on August 28, 2014. Mrs. Faircloth is survived by her husband of 54 years, Franklin L. Faircloth Sr.; by her children Katrinia Faircloth, Franklin Faircloth Jr. (Kristi), Bert Faircloth (Joni); and Kevin Faircloth (Karen); by grandchildren, Amanda McCluskey (Phillip), Tiffany Foley (Adam), Brittany Faircloth, Franklin Faircloth III, Todd Faircloth, Randall Faircloth and Christian Faircloth; and one great-grandchild, Madison McCluskey.
Known as the “Quintessential Matriarch” of her family she was known by all who knew her as a very unselfish, compassionate lady who lived a life of “unconditional love”. She was a member of Pine Valley Church of God for many years and after raising her children she went to work and retired as a school bus driver from the public school system.
Visitation will be held Sunday August 31, 2014 from 6 to 8 PM at Coble Ward-Smith, Wilmington. Service will be on Monday, September 1, 2014 at 11:00 am at Pine Valley Church of God, Wilmington with Rev. Larry Horrell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
