Terry Wayne Justice, better known as “Terry Wayne from Castle Hayne”, age 52, passed away on Friday January 27, 2023. Being diagnosed with liver cancer back in early 2019, Terry put up a long fight. Surrounded by friends and family, he lost his battle and gained his wings to Heaven to forever watch over his loved ones from above.
He is preceded in death by his father, Larry Joseph Justice Sr and his brother, Larry Joseph Justice Jr. He is survived by his mother, Sheila Chadwick Justice (Joey Hill), wife Michelle Presnell, sons Dalton Wayne Justice, Joseph Brody Justice, and Zackary Dalton Presnell, uncles Clifton and Barry Justice, and cousin Danny Bollinger, who he loved as a brother.
Terry attended Laney High School. He later started his own business as a flooring installer where he had the opportunity to work with the local movie studio. After his diagnosis, they moved from their Castle Hayne home into his grandparent’s home where he brought the community together. Neighbor and friend, Matt Wirt, said it best, “Our neighborhood will never be the same without you.” You could always find him in “Terry’s Workshop”, where he worked on a multitude of projects and had jam sessions. Terry welcomed anyone and everyone into his life, home, and garage with a revolving door of laughter, love, and entertainment.
Terry loved his toys. He grew up on dirt bikes and four wheelers of which he raised his kids to do the same. He even requested to be buried in his Prelude car in the backyard of his Castle Hayne home with the speakers blasting his favorite songs. Those that knew Terry, knew he never met a stranger and treated many as family. Several of his son’s friends considered him a father figure and he treated them all like one of his own.
The family will be welcoming friends and guests for visitation at Coble Funeral & Cremation & Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 1:00pm with a service at 2:00pm. The graveside service will be immediately following at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, NC 28412. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, neighbors, and all who knew him.
