Shirley Thompson Lewis

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Shirley Eileen Lewis, our loving and devoted grandmother, mother, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on June 13, 2023. She left us peacefully at Lower Cape Fear Life Care in Wilmington, NC. She was in her 91st year.

Born in Canada, Shirley traveled across the US in seeking a new adventure along the side of her family.

Shirley was wonderfully devoted to her husband Frank Lewis (deceased) and 8 children, Kerry Lewis (deceased), Karen Spencer, Kenneth Lewis, Kurt Lewis, Keith Lewis (deceased), Kelly Dove (deceased), Kendra Aguilera, Kimberley Benton (deceased).

She lived a full life as a wonderful mother, mentor, and dedicated grandmother. She loved to laugh, adored all animals and wildlife and her weekly outings to the Moose Lodge for Friday Night Bingo.

Most of all Shirley loved her family, friends, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1311 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, NC 28412, on Monday, June 19th, 2023, service beginning at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers may be sent to Coble Funeral & Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, NC 28412.
