Ronald T. Long

He was born on October 11, 1970 in Nuremberg, Germany.

“Sonny” was a friend to all that knew him and a terrific but stern supervisor to his men who worked for him. He was fantastic at his job working for Cape Fear Public Utility Authority for 15 years as a construction supervisor. He was a wonderful husband and step father to 4 great boys whom he helped raise for 17 years, also called Grandpa Sonny to 3 grandsons. He was a cherished son to his mom and dad and step parents also an adored brother to an older and younger sister.

We loved him deeply and he will greatly and sadly miss. He left a big hole in our hearts with all of us who were lucky enough to be blessed with him in our lives. We will always love you Sonny, Debbie, the boys, Mom and Dad and sisters.

“Sonny” is survived by his wife, Debbie Long; father, Ronald Linwood Long and his wife Yovonn of Wallace, NC; mother, Dorothy Sue Myers and her husband, Brent of Rocky Point, NC; Step children: Mark Cervero, Jr., Michael Cervero and his wife, Katrina, Jon L. McCready( US Navy), Randall McCready (US Air Force); Step grandsons, Mark Cervero III, Andrew Cervero and Alexander Cervero; sisters, Ronda Michelle Long and friend Mike, Wendy Sue Long and friend Mike; his pet dog, Reba that will miss him very much.

A life celebration was held privately at the convenience of the family.
