It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Benjamin Harris, Jr.,

a beloved husband, father, grandfather, fisherman, and Vietnam veteran.

Robert peacefully left this world on October 3, 2023, in Wilmington, NC.

Bob, born on March 15, 1948, in Alexandra, VA was a man of extraordinary character and unwavering love. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, warmth, and wisdom. Bob proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran, demonstrating immense courage and dedication to his fellow soldiers and the principles he held dear.

A devoted family man, Bob is survived by his two children, Bobby and Patty.

Bob was also a doting grandfather to Taylor, Alexa, Abigail, Jake, Benji, and Jaxson,

along with his two Great-Grandchildren Adaline, and Keegan.

His role as "Papa" brought immense joy and happiness to his family.

As an avid fisherman, Bob found solace and joy by the water's edge, and he often shared this passion with family and friends. His tales of fishing adventures were legendary, and his love for the outdoors was infectious. Bob's life was marked not only by his military service and love for fishing but also by his unwavering commitment to his family and community. He was known for his quick wit and storytelling ability, bringing laughter to those around him. Bob's memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength that will continue to inspire us.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held on October 28th, at 11:30 am, at Coble Funeral & Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A reception will follow. Internment will be at Oleander Memorial Garden at 3pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Lifecare.

We will miss Papa deeply but take comfort in the knowledge that his spirit will live on in our hearts and memories.
