Her given name was Peggy Marie Ganey, and she lived and loved us all for eighty-six years. She passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2012. She was born May 11, 1926 in Wilmington, NC. She touched the hearts of all she knew with kindness, an upbeat attitude and true caring. A saint has gone, but left behind, for all of us, the joy and blessing of knowing her. Now her memory is all we have, and we must cherish it forever.
While on this Earth, she enjoyed a lifetime of fellowship and happiness filling her heart and others lives with joy while following in the teachings of our savior Jesus Christ and had told many folks many times her joys in life was the joy brought to her by her three sons and her involvement and membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Peggy always had a cheerful smile, a kind word, and never met a stranger, she was always willing to offer all she had to anyone she found in need. All that knew Peggy both living and deceased have often had the opportunity to bear their testimony that there will never be another person as optimistic, compassionate, caring, and loving, while always thinking of others before herself, Peggy found good in all people telling them so as to often bring a smile to a friend or stranger.
Many others have lived great fulfilling lives, although few have had the joyful opportunity to make a positive impact on others, bringing joy and happiness to so many people as Peggy Ganey Peterson. God has blessed all that came in contact with her and God has given her a place in heaven.
Peggy had three sons, so very blessed to be hers, Mike, Billy and wife Nicola, and Stuart; grandchildren, Haley, Cassie Michael, Matthew, Elizabeth, Celeste, Amber, Jessica, Britni, Dustin, and Chase; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Mason, Fisher, Gracynne, Camron, Nixon, Ace, and Lochlan.
As always in Peggy’s giving spirit, she has requested in lieu of flowers that you send or deliver flowers to the living so that they will enjoy both your company and your gift of beautiful flowers for which you and others will enjoy. Thanks to all family and friends that are not mentioned as all have been extremely supportive.
A visitation will be Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM at Coble Ward-Smith, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC. A funeral service will be Friday, October 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 514 S College Rd. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
