Oscar Rodriguez, a beloved resident of Leland, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2023, at the age of 53. He was born on October 10, 1969, in Harlingen, Texas. Oscar was a vibrant and cherished member of his community. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, passion, and love.
Oscar leaves behind his beloved daughter, Crystal Rodriguez, who will forever cherish the memories and the unconditional love they shared. Oscar was also the loving son of Gloria Westbrook Rodriguez, who survives him, and the late Oscar Rodriguez. Oscar's memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family, including his siblings, Maria Rodriguez, Joey Ibrahim, and Chris Rodriguez. His presence will be greatly missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be remembered as a devoted father, a caring brother, a loyal friend, and a legend in the Wilmington area.
Known for his vibrant spirit and infectious laughter, Oscar had an unwavering love for the Dallas Cowboys and never missed a chance to cheer on his beloved team on football Sundays at Buffalo Wild Wings where he even had a specific table designated for him. He rarely missed a Sunday except during his yearly pilgrimage to Dallas to cheer them on in person. His passion for sports extended beyond the game, as he often engaged in lively discussions and friendly banter with friends and family. “YOU KNOW!!!!!”
One of Oscar's greatest joys in life was engaging in trivia. With a wealth of knowledge and a quick wit, he was an unbeatable force in any trivia competition. Oscar's sharp mind and passion for learning made him a captivating presence among his friends, who admired his ability to recall even the most obscure facts.
Oscar had a magnetic personality that drew people in, and there was never a dull moment when he was around. He had an insatiable love for music and could never resist the call of a karaoke microphone. Whether it was singing his heart out or encouraging others to step up to the stage, Oscar's enthusiasm was contagious, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.
Beyond his hobbies and interests, Oscar's true essence was defined by his genuine care and compassion for others. He was always the first to offer a helping hand or lend a listening ear to those in need. His generous spirit and warm heart touched the lives of countless individuals, and his absence will leave a void that cannot be filled.

In place of a memorial service, there will be a celebration of his life on July 22, 2023 at 6pm at the Buffalo Wild Wings located at 206 Old Eastwood Road, Wilmington, NC 28403.
