Nancy passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on Saturday, November 6, 2021. Thankfully, she was able to be in her own home, enjoying her neighbors and neighborhood and her beautiful, stately oak tree in her manicured yard.
Nancy was born in the state of New York on March 26, 1935 and was reared by her mother and grandparents in Batavia, New York. After graduation, she was employed the Veteran’s Administration in Cincinnati, Ohio.
After marrying Gerald S. Rosselot, they moved to Wilmington, NC where Jerry became a member of the English Department at UNCW. While in Wilmington, Nancy worked for the Nationwide Insurance Company, Gleason Allen Company and the Brown Culbreth Law Firm.
Nancy loved being an active member of the Faculty Wives Club at UNCW and participating in all the university functions. Also, she loved being a member of Little Chapel on the Boardwalk Presbyterian Church at Wrightsville Beach, NC. During her good health years, she enjoyed participating in all the activities and fellowship that the church provided. She always appreciated the visits and care provided by her ministers and church members during her husband’s days of illness and her own days of having to stay at home.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Gerald S. Rosselot, PHD, her special mother Mary Jean Stewart and her devoted Wasner grandparents from Ohio.
She is survived by Emma M. Dineen, a long standing friend and advocate since 1959. Over the years the two have essentially bonded as sisters. Other survivors are two cousins Lacy Boyer, Jack Squires and a family friend, Dean Smittle from Ohio.
Besides her caring, helpful and ever concerned neighbors, the following loving, dependable and capable caregivers of recent years made it possible for Nancy to stay in her comfortable home that she loved dearly. Those caregivers are Mary Britton, Judy Eason, Kate Haberland, Val Kinsley and Jerry Ludlum.
A Graveside Service will be held Monday, November 15, 2021 at 1:00pm at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.CobleGreenlawn.com for the Rosselot family.
