Michael Edmund Pollock

Michael Edmund Pollock age 66 of Wilmington passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday May 18, 2011 with his loving wife Carolyn his children and family by his side. Mike has left a lot of great memories and stories behind through his life and with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents John E. Pollock and Anne Marie McCarthy along with one brother Jerry Pollock. Mike’s successful business career spanned over a total of 40 years, first as a sales representative and manager for Digital Equipment Corporation, and then as an independent insurance agent helping many families with health care coverage. He was also an Air Force Veteran serving in Nebraska in Strategic Air Command.

Survivors are his wonderful wife Carolyn Walsh Pollock of the home: four daughters; Alessandra “Ali” Pollock and husband Greg Foltz, Seattle, WA., Andrea Pollock, Seattle, WA., Veronica Pollock, Raleigh, NC, and his stepdaughter Sonya Ciancutti and companion Christian Davis, Wilmington, NC.

Three sons; Matt Pollock and wife Genevieve, Glen Mills, PA; Joe Pollock and wife Becky, Wrightsville Beach, NC; John Pollock, Wilmington, NC. Four beautiful grandchildren Annalise Pollock Foltz and Sylvia Pollock Foltz (children of Alessandra and Greg), Luke Pollock (child of Joe and Becky) and Catherine Pollock (child of Matt and Genevieve) born May 17, 2011.

Sisters: Sue Norton, Judy Shalkam and husband Bill,Christine O’Brien, Debbie Salibi and husband Naman, Kathy Mordovancey and husband Pat: two brothers; Patrick Pollock and wife Jean, Martin Pollock and wife Yolanda: one sister in law Elizabeth Pollock (widow of Jerry Pollock), and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held on June 4, 2011 at 2:00pm at the residence.
