In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on February 9, 2007, after 64 years of marriage by her husband, Garland Max Thompson; a son, Jack Thompson; a grandson, Gary Atkinson and three brothers, Johnny Hughes, George Hughes and Irving Hughes.
Mary Thompson is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Broxton and Elaine Wooten both of Wilmington, NC; a son, James Thompson (Martha) of Hampstead, NC, five grandchildren, Danny Atkinson, Michelle Zavetsky, Michael Wooten, Jennifer Hoyt, Lindsey Souza; seven great-grandchildren; brother Charles Hughes (Mildred), a sister, Margaret Hutchinson and several Nieces and Nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday January 28, 2021 at Oleander Memorial Gardens with Pastor Billy Batten officiating.
