Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 50 years, George L. King Sr.
Mary is survived by her three children: Erica King Smith (Robert) of Leland, Jackie Miles (Tasha) of Leland and George (Slugger) L. King Jr. (Leigh) of Boiling Spring Lakes and three brothers: William C. Benton (Conway), Otis Powell (Wilmington) and Michael Powell (Hampstead).
Mary was the Grandmother of nine grandchildren; Molly (Madison), Haley (Hunter), Matthew, Savanna (Brandon), Justin, Kamryn ,Haleigh Smith, Greyson and Alicia (Nick). She was also the very proud Grandmother to five great grandchildren; Luna, Saylor Grace, Stetson, Artemis, and Tobias.
Mary was proceeded in death by her parents, Otis Powell Sr. and Ruby Harden, brother George, sister Bobbie Jo and oldest son Robert W. Miles.
Along with spending time with her family Mary had many hobbies. She was an avid bowler who once bowled at a National level. Mary enjoyed spending time in her yard tending to her flowers, garden and her chickens. She also loved spending time with her friends at the Leland Senior Center.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 20, 2021 at Coble Funeral & Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park from 6-8pm.
A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday September 21, 2022 at Elah Baptist Church.
Following the service Mary will be laid to rest at the King Memorial Garden in Leland.
