She was born April 2, 1934 in Cairo, WV to Harvey and Carrie Atkinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Norman Batton, and her son: Eugene Batton.
She is survived by her son: William Batton, her grandson, Justin Batton and his wife, Aileen, and her granddaughter: Emily Benson and her husband, Joseph.
She was a long time member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time in her yard and collecting antiques.
A visitation for Mary will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Following the visitation will be a funeral at 2:00 PM at Coble Funeral and Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, North Carolina 28412. Burial will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
