Mary Creole Atkinson, age 97 of Wilmington, NC passed away on November 25, 2024. She was born in Kinston, NC on December 17, 1926 to Jessie Winfield James an Gladys Mae Jarman James.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Delmas B. Atkinson, Sr.; her sons: Roscoe Morris Highfill and Raymond Highfill; siblings: Jessie Mae Cameron, Harry Lee James, Nora Elizabeth Furr and Ivon Franklin James.
She is survived by her son, Delmas Buck Atkinson, Jr.; daughter, Barbara A Jackson; grandchildren: Bobby D. Memory, Jr., Daniel Jackson, Jonathan Highfill and wife Leah; great grandchildren: Caleb and Charity Highfill; daughter in law Louise Highfill and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews
A Visitation will be held from 1pm until 2pm on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Coble Funeral & Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The Memorial Service will follow promptly at 2pm. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
