He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Bessie Parker Stubbs; three brothers, Brown Stubbs, Earl Stubbs and Sang Stubbs; and three sisters, Jewel Carver, Katherine McInnis, and Pauline Barfield.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Ruby Stubbs; daughters, Faith Meadows (Eddie), Hope Prevette (Randy), Cynthia Lopez (Bob) and Joy Ewing (Scott); son, Steve Stubbs (Suzanne), step-daughter, Sharon Bryant (Rocky); 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Rev. Stubbs is a member of Sea Gate Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacons and served on several church committees. Rev. Stubbs served his Lord as a minister for 59 years. He also worked for Merita Bread Company for 20 years. Rev. Stubbs established The Wedding Chapel in 1995 and since that time has joined many couples in marriage. He served his country in the United States Army.
A visitation is Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Oleander Chapel. A funeral service will be Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 1:00pm at Sea Gate Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sea Gate Baptist Church.
