Madeline McDowell Marshburn, 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23, 2014. Mrs. Marshburn was the daughter of the late Joe and Florence McDowell. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Gordon Marshburn, and a sister, Gladys Lewis.
Madeline is survived by her two sons, Wayne B. Marshburn, (wife Gina) and Ray Marshburn, (wife Connie); sisters, Theo Bass, Bessie Lee Vereen, Louise Caison, Marie Justice, and Vernie Ganey; 5 grandchildren, Craig, Brian, Jason, Kelley, and Danielle Marshburn; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Marshburn was a longtime member of Woodburn Baptist Church. She loved to garden, cook for her family, and spending time with her canine friend, “Gracie.” A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, and friend. Madeline will be greatly missed and always lovingly remembered.
The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00pm, Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Coble Ward-Smith, Oleander Chapel. Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Wednesday, March 26, 2014 also at Coble Ward-Smith, with interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
