Kenneth Neil Clayton, 86 of Wallace, passed away February 17, 2020 in Wilmington North Carolina. During his nearly twenty-seven years serving in the Army Kenneth Clayton earned a National Defense Service Medal (1st OLC); Combat Medical Badge; Army Occupation Medal; United Nations Service Medal; Korea Service Medal; Good Conduct Medal (1st-6th Awards); Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation; Distinguished Unit Citation Bronze Star Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal W/60 Device; and the Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm.
Kenneth Clayton has been preceded in death by his father Luther Clayton, mother Helen Varner, and his brothers and sisters. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife Josephine Clayton; daughters Patricia McCall, Dreama Tapia and her husband Preston, Crystal Resh and her husband Christopher; his son William Clayton and favorite niece Reina Clayton.
There will be a visitation for Kenneth Clayton from 11 am to 1 pm Saturday February 22, 2020 at Coble Ward Smith Funeral Home in Wilmington North Carolina with a memorial service to follow at 1 pm in the Coble Ward Smith chapel. Kenneth Clayton will be buried following the service at Kings Memorial Garden.
