Katherine Ann Kukor

Kathy was born August 7, 1953 in San Diego, CA to Dr. Charles S. Bartlett and Jean Schaefer Bartlett. She married her husband, Rick, in 1987, and together they raised their two beautiful daughters, Barbara and Kelsey. After graduating from The University of South Florida in 1977, she went on to lead a successful, 44-year career in the worker’s compensation and risk management industries, which included starting her own consulting firm. She was also proud to be able to volunteer her time with the Wilmington Safety School.

She was always happiest when surrounded by family and friends, especially if those surroundings included time spent on the beach, or at home with a pet in her lap. Kathy’s musical talents brought great joy to her life and those around her, as she served many years in her church choirs and was always a guaranteed showstopper in the family reunion talent show. She relied heavily on the strength derived from her great faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as was evident in how she lived her life.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Rick Kukor; father, Dr. Charles S. Bartlett; two daughters, Barbara Perkins (Mitch), and Kelsey Kukor; sister, Linda Moore (Tim); and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Schaefer Bartlett.

A private memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Pine Valley United Methodist Church, led by Pastor Tim Reaves. Those wishing to view the service online may do so by visiting www.pvumc.net and clicking “Watch Us Live.”
