Joseph Allen Pettet Sr.

Joe was born in Wilmington, NC on May 14, 1936 son of Eudora Peterson Pettet and Owen Lewis Pettet.

Joe is also preceded in death by his daughter, JoEllen Pettet Rabon and brothers: Owen Pettet and Riley Pettet.

Joe was a veteran of the U.S Army and Army Reserves. He served his country in Korea in the 1950’s and Operation Desert Storm in the 1990’s. Joe, his wife and son ran a plumbing company for decades. Joe proudly served as Exalted Ruler, and State President of the Elks Lodge. He was active in many charitable organizations and veterans affairs such as the Purple Hearts Association, VA Hospitals and Nursing Homes. He also loved golfing and fishing.

Joe is survived by his wife, Barbara Ellen Avison Pettet; son Joseph Allen Pettet, Jr. and two grandsons: Joseph and Christopher Rabon.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday September 21, 2024 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Coble Funeral and Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, NC 28412.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday September 21, 2024 at Oleander Memorial Gardens, 306 Bradley Drive, Wilmington, NC 28409.
