Inspired by Matthew, a verse that completely fits Jimmie Solomon Daughtry and the life he lived, as a servant of Jesus Christ.
  Knowing Jimmie as I did, he would probably smile and say, "I was just a sinner, saved by grace"!!

As his cousin, friend and mentor, I will say I am honored to have had the opportunity to know and love Jimmie Solomon Daughtry, (named after his grandfather) and perhaps the biblical  Solomon, as well!
Jimmie's wisdom came long before his maturity.   He was 
 always the one who seemed to have life figured out, knowing how to make everyone feel special, without even realizing the impact it had on others.  A SPIRITUAL GIFT THE FATHER GAVE 
HIM< PERHAPS!

He was such  a dedicated member of the Pine Valley Church of God for many years and an excellent Sunday School teacher whose life touched many people. I well remember my friend, Jimmie, from our high school days.  The fact that he was chosen as president of our senior class shows just how much he was valued and respected.   I became even closer to Jimmie as we shared the same dorm room at N.C. State University during our Freshman and Sophomore years.   I can still see him sitting in our dorm room reading his Bible night after night.  What a good example and godly influence he had on my life!---even though I, too, was already a Christian at the time.  I will never forget my dear friend---his warm smile, his reserved demeanor, and, most of all, his devoted and consistent Christian life.  God be praised!!!

Jimmy and I are first cousins and grew up together outside Princeton, NC.  Jimmie and his brother David were a few years older than I, but we spent many days together riding our bikes and playing all sorts of games.  Jimmie was the one who always kept us on the right track.  Many years have passed, but all those childhood memories mean the world to me.  I loved Jimmie so very much and always knew how much he loved all of us too.  I know he is with our Lord and Savior now and still has a beautiful smile on his face.  I know  I will see Jimmie again one day.  Carla and all of his family are in my prayers.
