Jerome Robert Davis

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Josephine Davis; brothers: James and Thomas Davis and granddaughter Norah Yeats Shao.

Jerry was a graduate of Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio and served in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division. He worked for the federal government for 38 years; first as head of real property for General Services Administration, then the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, and in later years for U.S. Navy at Bethesda Naval Hospital, as a Project Manager. His passion was aviation and flight and he was a long time member of the Experimental Aircraft Association.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Catherine Moelter Davis; sons: Robert and James (Ling Shao) Davis; sister: Mary Jo Tydlacke, brother: Richard Davis; four grandsons: Samuel, Frank, Max, and Nicholas Shao; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 10-11am on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at St. Marks’ Catholic Church, 1011 Eastwood Road, Wilmington, NC 28403. A funeral service will follow at 11am with Fr. Spencer officiating. Interment will be on a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery, Great Bend, Pennsylvania.
