Franklin LaVerne Faircloth, Sr., age 83, passed away and went to his heavenly home on Saturday, December 17, 2022. Frank was born March 5, 1939, in Lumberton, North Carolina to Bert and Helen Faircloth.
Frank is survived by his sons, Franklin LaVerne Faircloth, Jr., Bert Faircloth (Joni), and Kevin Faircloth (Karen). Grandchildren Amanda Faircloth McCluskey (Phillip), Tiffany Faircloth Foley (Adam), Brittany Faircloth Ganey (Evan), Franklin LaVerne Faircloth, III, Randall Faircloth, and Christian Faircloth. Great-grandchildren Madison McCluskey, Meredith McCluskey, Dallas Ganey, James Faircloth (Adrianna); and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years Virginia Woodard Faircloth, daughter Katrina Darlene Faircloth, grandson Kevin Todd Faircloth, and daughter-in-law Kristin Psioda Faircloth.
Frank served 4 years in the U.S. Navy, 2 years in the Reserves, and retired at the rank of E-5. He loved his country and was a Patriot through and through.
His immediate family called him LaVerne. He was a dedicated, honest, loyal, and loving husband, father, son, and grandfather. Frank was an only child and always honored his mother and father. His hobbies included fishing, reading, trading stocks, and enjoying his dogs. He loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Pine Valley Church of God.
Frank graduated from New Hanover High School and attended Cape Fear Technical Institute. He was well-read and enjoyed educating himself. Frank’s understanding of advanced process systems, motor controls, electricity, electronics, and PLC microprocessors allowed him to train many others in his field. He was a committed and hard-working provider as he retired from Cape Industries of Wilmington, NC after more than 30 years of service.
Visitation will be held 7-9 pm on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Coble Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel 1155 Shipyard Blvd. Wilmington, NC 28412. The funeral will be held at 11 am on Friday, December 23, 2022, at Pine Valley Church of God 3810 Shipyard Blvd. Wilmington, NC 28412. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
