Evelyn I miss your smile that I got when I would see you. You might be alive if it wasn't for the place you were in when died. I love you and know you are dancing and whooping and hollering like you did when you were alive. We had many great visits. I love you for the person you were. Her smile and laughter will always b missed with the Elks 

We will miss our dear and lovely neighbor Evelyn. She was our ever-ready watchdog when we left Wilmington for an extended length of time. When we first moved into our home thirty-four years ago, there was a sweet lady with a loaf of homemade bread welcoming us. It is going to be hard looking at her house and knowing she is no longer with us, especially to chats across the hedges. However, Our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ is there waiting for her with open arms saying, this is Evelyn on whom I am well pleased.  

Oh my!  What a woman!  Bob and I have the fondest memories of Evelyn.  We truly love her.  She was an incredible human being.  We spent a lot of time together during the years Billy and Bob were State President for the NC Elks organization.  Considering all we NC Elks First Ladies had to do to support our husbands and the Elks, Evelyn and I had a joke.  We always joked that "we were joined at the hip"!  Evelyn was beautiful inside and out.  She was kind to all. 
 We will never forget her and the time we spent together.  

Our Elkdom family has lost a true member who may be gone but never forgotten. Vickie and I send our sincere condolences to Billy and family. We will remember her contagious laughter and sense of humor and the gifts of bread and jam she prepared for us. Her memories are written upon the tablets of love. 

Praying for the family and thankful that Evelyn is not suffering anymore. She’s having a family reunion in heaven! 

It was always such a pleasure to be around Evelyn.  She was so happy and inspired everyone she was with. She was always such a positive encourager.

Billy I know you have been lonely without Evelyn, but she has gone to sing to everyone in the pearly gates. She doesn't have to suffer any more. I know you have done all you could do for her while she was at home. Just rest in peace you did all you could do. She does not want you to be sad.  Enjoy what life you have and look to the stars for her singing and dancing which ya'll liked to do. So sorry for the family and you.

Evelyn will always be in my close friend. I met her at the Elks in the 1980's. We have been close friends since then. She loves to dance and have a good time. She knows how to put on a show with her dancing. Oh how Evelyn liked to dance. When she went to Spring Arbor I use to go every week and take her a card. I would read them to her and use to always thank me. She would call my name. Oh what a joy, and now she has gone to be with her loved one in a better place and she can dance with all. Evelyn you will be missed. James and I love you and 1 day we will see each other again and dance. 

Mrs. Evelyn,  always called me  Miss Goldsboro every time we saw
each other. She was my best dance partner at the conventions.
I thank she could out dance everyone , for she danced every dance.
I remember her saying prayer at all DD clients.  The best beautiful
lady I ever meet.   She was a blessing to talk with and always smiling.
Will be dearly missed.

What a beautiful soul this world has lost. Her smile, laughter and love for life was evident in all Evelyn did.  Billy, my prayers are with you and your family at this time.  May God wrap his arms around you and comfort you. He has received a beautiful angel and is rejoicing.
