She was born in Wilson County, North Carolina on October 27, 1930.
She is the widow of her husband, Bob Sikes, she is also preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Amanda Benton; brothers, Donald Benton and Earl Benton; sisters, Henrietta Goodman and Dorothy Batts.
She was a member of Oleander Church being a United Methodist and served God and all with love. She was a certified nursing assistant giving care to patients at Cape Fear Hospital and later private care through Elder Care.
She is survived by one daughter, Amy Sikes of the home and one sister, Helen Dunn of Asheboro, NC.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 16, 2016 at 11am at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service. Funeral Service will be at noon with Rev Tara Lain officiating. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oleander United Methodist Church, 5810 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403.
