Elizabeth "Libby" Furches Dennis

She was born on December 9, 1925 in Winston Salem, NC, daughter of the late Stephen Louis Furches, Sr. and Lydia Amanda West Furches. Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Lou Furches, Jr.

She was a lifelong member of Sea Gate Baptist Church. She worked at Hanes Hosiery in Winston Salem. Later in life she worked with her husband, Art, at Dennis’ Jewel Box on Front Street. She was a devoted wife and loving mother.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Arthur Lee Dennis, Jr.; her four children, Sandra and Brad Cullen and Ron Dennis both of Wilmington; Laura and Jim Taylor of Emerald Isle, NC, and Lydia and Tony Brown of Rocky Point, NC.

Six grandchildren: David Cullen and his wife Suzanne of Sugar Hill, GA; Will, Ashley and Daniel Taylor; Jeffery and Matthew Brown.

Four great-grandchildren: Nathan Cullen, Emma, Grace, and Anna Foster of Sugar Hill, GA.

Beloved sister of Katherine F. Rumley and brothers, George Furches and Jim Furches, all of Winston Salem and Bill Furches of Fredericksburg, VA.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Saturday at Sea Gate Baptist Church.
