He was born in Orange NJ on February 3, 1931 to Louis and Celeste Cappiello.
He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Celeste and his brothers Benvenuto, Moses and Noah.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He then graduated from Montclair State Teachers College and received his Master’s degree from Columbia University.
He was a professional musician and also a Teacher, Band Director and Fine Arts and Music Administrator for 38 years in Cedar Grove NJ.
He was an elder and preacher in his church for many years, and for the last 16 years enjoyed the love and fellowship of the believers at Wilmington Bible Chapel.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Christine. He was also devoted to his sons and daughters-in-law Lee and Lynn, Edward and Desiree, Evan and Kristine and his grandchildren Jacob, Emma, Alina, Maya and Katie.
Visitation for Elijah will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Coble Funeral & Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, North Carolina 28412.
Funeral Service will start at 11:00 AM in the Coble Chapel Interment will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens, 306 Bradley Drive, Wilmington, NC, N.C. 28409.
