Edward Francis Burke

Edward Francis Burke of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 28, 2011. He was born August 28, 1929 in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late James Gottfried Burke and Mable Viola Dunning. Mr. Burke was a retired foreman from Riegelwood Federal Paper, and he was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp.

Edward is survived by his wife, Isabel V. Burke; daughters, Kathy, Karen, Irene, Frances and husband, Lawrence; sons, Tito, Michael and wife, Joni, Donnie and wife, Cheri, Jeff and wife, Pam, Tracy and wife, Terena; 16 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren; brothers, Jimmy, Frank, David; and sisters, Lina, Nina, and Marie.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2011 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service Wilmington Chapel with Rev. Charles Smiley officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Military Honors.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 31, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
