Dorothy "Dottie" Evelyn Wootton

Dottie was born on September 20, 1943 in Louisa County, VA, daughter of the late Floyd Eugene Hix and Mary Elizabeth Labbe.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James Kenneth Duvall and Billie Ray Wootton.

Dottie was a member the Eastern Star and never met a Stanger, she was always giving to others never thinking of herself. She loved her family and friends but dedicated her life to her 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed to all that knew and loved her.

Dottie is survived by her children: Victoria L. Chandler and her husband, Michael of Ivanhoe, NC, Richard E. Duvall, Sr. and his wife, Patricia of Leland, NC, June M. Strickland and her husband, Freddie of Leland, NC and Scarlete A. Tyler of Ashville, NC; 8 grandchildren: Kassira (Jeff), Richard, Jr.(Shannon), Amie(Chad), Ashley, David(Brandy), Daniel, Angela and Catherine; 13 great grandchildren: Cameron, Ashlyn, Brianna, Savannah, James, Krista, Jonathan, Bradley, William, Eva, Maddilynn, Mason and Brantley; Brother, Floyd Hix, Jr. of Ruther Glen, VA; Sisters, Elizabeth Clements of Beverdam, VA, and Mary Ellen Thurston of Richmond, VA and special sister, Charlotte Duvall of Mineral,VA.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 on Wednesday April 24, 2013 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home, 3915 Oleander Drive Wilmington, NC 28403.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday April 25, 2013 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at Oleander Memorial Gardens, 306 Bradley Drive Wilmington, NC 28409 with Chaplin Mickie Norman officiating.

Pallbearers will be members of the Winnabow Fire Department.

The family would like to thank the all the nurses and doctors at the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick especially Dr. Rebecca Summerlin for all their love, comfort and support to Dottie and the Wootton family.
