She was born in Wilmington on Jan 20th, 1955, the daughter of the late Lt. Colonel William and Carolyn Logan.
She was one of five children and grew up in a loving and tight knit family. After high school she spent time in Raleigh and Baton Rouge and then settled down and raised her family in Goldsboro. She followed in her mother’s footsteps and earned her nursing license and was a caring and dedicated nurse. After retirement, when she moved back to Wilmington, she volunteered with her dogs to provide pet therapy at the local hospital. She was a fanatic college football and basketball fan and never missed a NCSU game. She loved beach music, enjoyed shag and line dancing at Carolina Beach, and was always up for an impromptu dance party. She never missed her morning and nightly dog walks with friends. She was an active and hands on mom and loved more than anything being a Nana. She enjoyed playing games (she was fiercely competitive), taking the kids on adventures and teaching them about history. She was proud of her southern heritage and was a devoted Christian. She loved all animals, especially horses and dogs. She always put family first and was a loyal friend. She had never met a stranger, was loved by so many, and will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her older sister Lynn Hoyle, older brother David Logan, her son Jason Allen and wife Leslie Allen, her daughter Shannon Allen and husband John McLaughlin, her 4 grandchildren Jake Allen, Anderson Allen, Avery Allen, Chase McLaughlin, and her beloved German Shepherd, Scout.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday May 22nd from 2pm-4pm at Bradley Creek Marina in Wilmington, NC.
