He was born and raised in Gastonia, NC on February 27, 1951 son to John Luther Buchanan and Fannie Mae Parker Buchanan. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bruce Buchanan; sister, Vanessa Payne and grandson, KC Lee Johnson.
Clinton proudly served his country as a tank driver for the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a very hard working man, provided and cared for his family. Clinton never met a stranger and if you needed a friend that’s what you would have with him no matter what.
He enjoyed fishing, cards, guns and wrestling but the one thing that put a smile on his face was spending time with his grandkids and great grandbabies and family.
Clinton is survived by his daughters: Dawn Buchanan and Amanda Phillips; son, Josh Buchanan; brothers, Dale Buchanan and Howard Buchanan; sister, Debbie Summey; ex-wife and dear friend, Wanda Drewery; also 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren that will know a great man’s love.
A visitation for Clinton will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Coble Funeral & Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, North Carolina 28412.
