Our thoughts and prayers are with family, friends and the Navy brothers who have lost a great man. On behalf of The Boston Police Gaelic Column of Pipes and Drums we want to offer our sincere condolences to the Brittingham family. I had the privilege of meeting Chris at lunch last year. So very sorry for your loss

Chris was my little brother's friend (they were in JROTC together) who would come hang out over at our house when we lived down the road. In 2009, there was a military ball that I had plans to go to, but my plans fell through. Chris overhead and he offered, nonchalantly, to take me as his date. Days later, he called me and said he wanted to ask me officially to go to the military ball with him. When he got to the dance, he was wearing sunglasses, although it was dark outside. I found him in the crowd and he smiled and said, "for you, m'lady" and handed me a long stemmed red rose.  To this day, Chris is the only person I've ever danced with at an event and we had an absolute blast dancing for about 4 hours. He made me one of his famous macrame bracelets, which I still have to this day. He told me more about "Chris Time", which he had created to be able to tell the time on his watch that ran too fast or too slow. It's one of my all-time favorite memories of my life and I was so lucky to know Chris and to have such a kind and absolutely hilarious friend.

He brought joy to everyone. He was compassionate, kind, gentle, hilarious, and genuinely the best person. He still makes us smile. I can only hope and pray that I grow up to be like Chris and that more people do the same.

I thought you all might like to hear how positively Chris impacted so many people. My family is in shock and grief over losing such an important person from our teenaged years. We are sending you and your family endless love and support. <3 <3 <3

You left this earth too soon but God must have other plans for you. It was an honor shooting with you and going on trips. You were always the chilliest and calmest person around. I am glad that we got to catch up at the mall a few years after high school. I loved seeing all the pictures of your adventures. Now you are having your greatest adventure.

Chris, you left an everlasting impression on me the very first time I met you as I had just started my 2nd career as a Naval Science Instructor here at Ashley High School.  Along with your fellow cadets, and me, it was exciting news to hear that you chose to pursue a Navy Career, especially the career field you devoted yourself to, and on the other end of the spectrum, it was a total shock to us all to hear the unfortunate news.  God must have other big plans for you!
Chris, students like you were the reason I fell in love with my current position here at Ashley.  God Bless You and your family.  You're in good company with my older brother Mark who too served the United States

The Brittingham Family are some of the kindest, most loving and amazing people we have ever met, We met Chris through Martin in 2016 and spent countless days at their home in Imperial Beach. We lived around the corner from them and had the pleasure of getting to know both of them very well, as well as Melody and Kristen. We have so many wonderful memories with them, it’s hard to pick just one. Chris was an amazing man and role model. We are praying for Chris and all of his family/friends during this hard time. May God comfort all of you as we know he is with him in Heaven. We know we will see him again.
