Charles Leonard Tyner

Charles Leonard Tyner was born in Johnson County on September 6, 1927, the son of the late Johnny and Mettie Daughtry Tyner, one of eight children. preceeded him in death Brothers, William Tyner, J. C. Tyner and James Zadock Tyner, and Sisters, Ida Mae Tyner, Jula Bess Tyner, Alma Lee Tyner and Eugenia Tyner Smith,. and grandchildren, Tabatha Carter, Connie’s daughter and Tony McMillan, Almon’s son, and also wife of 44 years, Ola Jane Shipman Tyner of Whiteville, NC.

Surviving family are Daughter Myra L. Spivey and husband Doug with 4 children, Cathy, Kenny, Tommy, Rodney and 9 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren, Son Almon E. McMillan and wife Mary with 3 children, Chris, Bryan and Brad and 14 Grandchildren, Daughter Connie Talton and 2 children, Geanent and Chrystal and 3 Grandchildren, Son J. L. Tyner and wife Jill with 5 children, Jason, John, Jennifer, Brittany and Bryan and 13 Grandchildren, Daughter Sue Whitmore and husband Joey with 1 child Christy and 1 Grandchild, Daughter Tina Johnson and 2 children, Trish and Robyn, Son Warren Tyner with 2 children, Candy Tyner and Charles and 4 Grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015, in Greenlawn Memorial Park with Rev. David Brownlee officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, at the funeral home of Coble Ward-Smith.
