Bobbie Sue Brew, 61, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 after an extended illness. Bobbie was the daughter of Elva Smith McDuffie and the late Robert McKenzie McDuffie. She is preceded in death by her brother, Michael McDuffie. Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Wilbur Brew, a son; Gregory Brew and wife Laura, one daughter; Wendy Thompson and husband Gray, seven grandchildren; Teri, Ashlee, and Gray (Jr.) Thompson and Brittany, Greg (Jr.), Luke, and Layla Brew. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Bobbie will be greatly missed and always lovingly remembered.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Lower Cape Fear Hospice and the nurses and staff at New Hanover Regional Medical Center for their care and concern for Mrs. Brew.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, December 31, 2010 at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to any cancer research foundation.
