Audrey Harris Owens

Mrs. Owens was born in Zephyrhills, FL on September 13, 1932 to the late Henry Benjamin Harris and Ethel Leota Harris.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Richard Alan Owens, Sr.

She is survived by her two sons, Richard Alan Owens, Jr. and wife Brenda, Robert David Owens and wife Sonny, and one daughter Kelly O. Hicks and husband Brad of Raleigh; five grandchildren, Chad Hicks, Brent Hicks, Daniel Owens and wife Ashley, Julie Owens, Trey Owens; one great-grandson Gabe Owens; brothers, Ray Harris, Larry Harris, and Dennis Harris. She is also survived by her 6 year old Yorkie, Cody.

A visitation will be held August 9, 2013 from 10-11am followed by a funeral service at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Oleander Chapel. The graveside service will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Rob Strickland officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Ray Skipper, Mike Knowles, Jason Flockhart, Brent Hicks, Trey Owens, and Daniel Owens with an honorary pallbearer, Morris Skipper, Sr.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401. They would like to thank hospice as well as the Zimmer Cancer Center for their compassionate care.
